The British Dog Groomers’ Association is part of the Pet Care Trade Association and represents groomer members by providing education, training and support
Groomer members of the PCTA automatically become members of the British Dog Groomers’ Association, and can display the BDGA’s sticker in their workplace, showing their customers that they can expect the highest standards of customer care and animal welfare from them.
Groomers are represented on the PCTA Board by Heidi Anderton LCGI of Absolutely Animals.
The centrepiece of the BDGA calendar is annual the British Dog Grooming Championship, where groomers compete for the prestigious title of ‘Groomer of the Year‘. This year’s event will take place on Sunday 29 October at the Kennel Club Building in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. Further details about the event can be found here. Details of previous recent Championships can be found under our ‘past events‘ section.
Groomers are also invited to submit an application for this year’s Pet Industry Awards. Celebrating the best in the industry, there are categories for ‘Grooming Business of the Year‘ and ‘Employee of the Year’, as well as the chance to get your customers to nominate you in our Public Vote. Go to the Awards pages to find out more.
The PCTA works closely with external publications like ProGroomer (to which our members receive a discount on subscription) and Grooming News to ensure that news and information about the grooming world are communicated to its members.
